How All This Came To Be.
After going
through a very painful time in my life. I found myself looking
for guidance on which direction do I needed to head in. " I'm no
theologian by any means, but I do believe in a God that I can do
business with on a daily basis. He has shown me that love, humor,
and being good for nothing (giving and not expecting anything in
return) is what He would like me to be focusing in on."
Long story
short... I was sitting at my computer finishing a prayer that I
had started writing years ago. It was July 27, 2007 at 6:45 PM when
I finally completed the Be Good To Yourself Prayer.
Let me share
with you the emotions that were running through me at that very
moment in time. Do me a favor - holdout your hands like
your cupping water, now pitcher a little sparrow flying down and
sitting in your hands. OK - That's the exact emotions that run through me.
WOW, and I will never forget it (Big boys do cry).
Not to sound
philosophical, but I did buckle my knees and ask God, what I was supposed to do with this gift? The
answer came with unbelievable warmth. Help the families
that did not ask to be put in the predicament that they are
currently in.
I have to admit that after looking back at that day.
This cause has always been in the back of my mind ever since I was
a nine-year-old boy.
You see I served my
country for only four years during peacetime. But I am proud to say
that I am a son of a man that was asked to protect us in two
different wars. Some people call them police actions. But I have to
think that if my boots were in the same situations that my father's
boots were in. I would have to agree with his personal and up close
evaluation.
Now we all know that our
military families are underpaid for the jobs that they are asked to
perform. It's also a fact that many of the reservist left jobs that
provided the necessary income to fit their family's means. Most of
them are not receiving anything close to what they could call the
income that's adequate for their families needs. Yes, it's true
that there are a lot of the families that have done miracles by surviving with the means that
they currently have. God bless them, but there are a number of them
that need of our help.
Now let me get off my soapbox. I think you get the picture of
what we're going to be doing with your help.

focus in on to assure that the needs of our servicemen and
women's families are met.

The contributions to these families could be as simple as a
payment of one of their bills, or as complex as honoring a
fallen soldiers child by helping them get the education that
their parents gave so much for.
It's important to
remember that BGTY is a flexible tool so that when He gives us the
plan and or need, we figure out a way to fulfill it.
